Frequently Asked Questions

1. What kinds of people do you coach?

I coach all sorts of people - people who want to break their blocks, find their dreams, and get out of their own way. People who want to find out who they are. There are specific niches that I coach, but if you want to work with me and don't specifically fit them, I'm fine with that too, as long as we click.

One of my specialties is what I call "radical authenticity," which I think of as helping people break their boxes and find out who they are, past what society tells them they are.

I also work with the "freaks, geeks, and weirdos" - artists, alternative spiritual paths, sexualities, and family structures: the kind of people who not only dance to their own drum, but probably made the drum in the first place! I consider myself unfreakable - no life is too weird for me.

I am also recovery friendly.

2. What's a session with you like?

That depends on the client, but it could be any or all of the following: fun, funny, creative, questioning, playful, imagery-based, challenging, direct, organic, daring, limited only by our collective imagination. It's my philosophy that you have the answers you're looking for; it's my job to help you get out of your way and find them. Sessions might look like friends having a conversation - or I could be calling you out on stuff you've been avoiding, or themes I'm seeing come up often. It just depends on your agenda - that's the focus.

3. Yeah, but what will we do??

We might do a "wheel assessment," which looks at various aspects of your life and asks you to draw a graphical representation of your satisfaction to see how your life balances out. We might do a guided meditation, talk about blocks/desires/values/dreams, sit on a beach, walk through a mall, make something together....the possibilities are limitless. We might be diving deep to restructure the way you look at your life....or we might be naming the elephant you've been dancing around...each session could be wildly different, depending on what's needed.

4. What are your hours?

Currently, I schedule sessions mostly from 8-10 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Wednesdays, and sometimes schedule weekend Discovery Sessions. I do require 24 hours advance notice for cancellations or rescheduling.

5. What are your rates?

Rates vary depending on the client and the situation. I try to be fair to everyone involved, realizing that not everyone who needs coaching may have piles of extra money lying around. I also know that I am trying to make a living with this work, and that means I need to charge what is fair for me, too. Everything is done on a case-by-case basis.

6. What's included in your monthly fee?

The fee includes two hours of session work in person or via phone every month, split into two one hour sessions, three 45 minute sessions, or four 30 minute sessions, as preferred by the client. It also includes e-mail contact between sessions and occassional 5-10 minute "touch base" phone sessions.
